Accessibility statement
This accessibility statement applies to the Climate Change Chorley website:
We want as many people as possible to be able to use the websites. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack)
- discern the structure and order of web pages and content
How accessible the websites are
We know some parts of the websites are not fully accessible:
- at 200% zoom, content within the cookie preference settings is partially cut off and no longer visible for users
- at 400% zoom, the button 'Save my preferences', within the cookie preference settings, does not reflow to fit the webpage correctly as users have to scroll horizontally to view full content
- the 'Save my preferences' button, within the cookie preference settings, does not have sufficient colour contrast
- the link 'FreePrivacyPolicy.com', within the cookie preference settings, does not have sufficient colour contrast
- the language dropdown menu, within the cookie preference settings, does not have accessible text
- at 400% zoom, keyboard focus is not visible on any interactive element on the page when the user tabs away from the cookie banner
- the 'Skip to...' buttons and hamburger menu are hidden behind the cookie banner when they receive keyboard focus, as it's possible to tab away from the banner and interact with content behind it.
