This funding is available for applicants within England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, for between £500,000 and £5,000,000.

They are looking to fund bold partnership projects that involve climate action and lead to lasting change. You must apply as a partnership as they do not accept applications from single organisations.

What they are looking for

Your project should either:

  • influence communities at a regional, national or UK level – by linking with bigger campaigns or projects that encourage people to take climate action, or by helping communities influence the decisions that affect them
  • connect climate action to everyday life – using people’s daily activities or interests to help them take action and create long-lasting change

They want to fund projects that:

  • have a clear and lasting impact
  • can be scaled up or repeated elsewhere
  • are delivered by diverse partnerships
  • bring in new voices, especially from communities affected by poverty, discrimination and disadvantage
  • connect climate action to everyday life and interests
  • have strong plans to share learning and tell the story of their work

Types of organisations they can fund

Each organisation must be one of the following:

  • a constituted voluntary or community organisation
  • a registered charity
  • a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO or SCIO)
  • a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee – you must be a registered charity or have a not-for-profit asset lock in your articles of association
  • a community interest company (CIC)
  • a school, college or university – if the project benefits the wider local community
  • a statutory body – including local authorities, town, parish or community councils
  • a community benefit society
  • a co-operative society – you must have a not-for-profit asset lock and be registered with the Financial Conduct Authority
